About the Job Opportunity

Are you passionate about helping organizations and people and solving technical challenges? Do you enjoy building relationships while making sure systems run smoothly behind the scenes? CAC is seeking a people-centered IT Support Specialist to join our IT Operations team.

In this role, you’ll be the first line of support for staff as they navigate a wide range of technology, from video conferencing tools to account provisioning and beyond. You’ll troubleshoot issues, support onboarding, maintain documentation, and help ensure our internal IT systems are running efficiently and effectively. You'll also contribute to larger IT projects and partner with the IT Operations Manager on ongoing improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide frontline support for IT help desk issues across Mac and Windows environments, both in-person and remotely.
  • Assist with onboarding new staff, including account setup, equipment provisioning, and IT orientation.
  • Support internal events and video conferencing tools like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Contribute to internal documentation, such as user guides, troubleshooting steps, and IT procedures.
  • Collaborate on IT projects, including software rollouts, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Help manage IT assets, including inventory, procurement, and decommissioning of hardware.
  • Support security and compliance efforts, and report any technical concerns to the IT Operations Manager.
  • Work closely with external vendors and CAC tech partners, supporting the implementation of new systems and tools.
  • Take initiative in problem-solving and helping to improve how IT support is delivered across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of IT support experience in a business or nonprofit environment, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Proficiency supporting both MacOS and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems or project management tools (e.g., Asana, Office 365, ticketing systems). 
  • Strong communication skills, especially with non-technical users.
  • A history of providing excellent customer service and building strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.

Work Requirements

  • Ability to remain at a computer for extended periods.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to view monitors and read text/data.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Clear English communication (spoken and written).
  • Based in or near Albuquerque, NM or willing to relocate. (In-person support required.)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience with MDM tools like Mosyle or Addigy.
  • Previous work in IT support or in customer-facing tech support
  • Familiarity with CAC’s work or a curiosity about contemplative spirituality.

Job Specifications, Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in the greater Albuquerque, New Mexico area. The role includes two in-office days per week to support hands-on IT needs. We welcome candidates who are already located in the area or those open to relocating and we offer relocation assistance to those open to moving.

We are pleased to offer an hourly range (non-exempt position) of $25.25 - $31.60 per hour per hour (based on experience) for this position. Compensation ranges are established based on a grade system designed to ensure competitiveness with industry standards as well as pay equity. Final compensation will be determined based on the specific qualifications of the candidate in relation to the salary grade and predetermined criteria.
