About the Job Opportunity

The People Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting CAC’s people-centered processes across the entire employee lifecycle. This position is critical to fostering a positive workplace culture, assisting with various HR functions, and balancing administrative tasks with culture-building initiatives.

The Coordinator helps maintain accurate employee records, supports recruitment and onboarding processes, and assists with HR compliance needs. Additionally, this role serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries, facilitates engagement initiatives, and contributes to the implementation of people operations strategies that align with CAC’s transformative work.

What You’ll Do

  • Recruitment and Onboarding
    • Coordinate, schedule, and assist in recruitment and onboarding activities, including interviews and onboarding sessions in collaboration with hiring managers.
    • Ensure new hire paperwork is accurate, timely, and compliant with legal and organizational standards.
  • HR Operations and Administration
    • Maintain accurate and organized employee records, supporting data integrity and compliance in CAC’s HRIS.
    • Assist in preparing HR-related reports, presentations, and communications.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture
    • Contribute to employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and organizational events.
    • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, directing them to appropriate resources.
    • Facilitate offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews as needed.
  • Benefits and Compliance
    • Support comprehensive benefits functions, including enrollment, system configuration, and employee communication.
    • Help research, develop, and distribute HR policies and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Assist with additional tasks (facility management, invoicing support, onsite events, All Hands meetings, etc.) as assigned by the People Operations team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ideally 1 or more years of experience in human resources, project management, or administrative roles, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proficiency with human resources management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools (Asana preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • HR certification is a plus but not required.

Work Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary at a desk for extended periods while using a computer.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to view monitors and read text/data.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, including speaking and comprehending conversations.

Job Specifications, Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled to begin as soon as possible. We are open to remote candidates located in the United States. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package for full-time staff positions.

We are pleased to offer a salary range of $49,610 - $62,012 (based on experience) for this position. Compensation ranges are established based on a grade system designed to ensure competitiveness with industry standards as well as pay equity. Final compensation will be determined based on the specific qualifications of the candidate in relation to the salary grade and predetermined criteria.
